Want to make a special garment really special? One way to do it is to use an absolutely amazing lining. Although it often seems like an afterthought, a wonderful lining can take a great garment to a whole new level. Whether or not the lining is supposed to show, as it is with certain jackets and coats and with capes, the right choice of fabric can give the wearer a psychological lift that comes from being close to something luxurious that's also a little bit of a secret. It's not exactly a naughty feeling, but it certainly is nice.

At AAF, we stock an array of beautiful fabrics suitable for lining: China silk; silk jacquards; and silk crepes. Lovely solids and lively prints. Some are linings, pure and simple, while others are dress fabrics that can do sublime double duty.
