Sewist: Jackie

Project: Doouble breasted jacket
Fabric: 80% wool, 20% cotton bouclé (AAF#2343)
Lining: rayon twill
Closures: AAF buttons
Pattern: Burda Style Fall 2015 jacket #101
Notes: Jackie sews with our Monday afternoon group. Here she models her recently completed Burda double breasted jacket made from a Chanel-like mixed fiber fabric from AAF. A few modifications were made to the pattern starting with eliminating both the back pleat and the band in front. With a clever placement of her pieces on a rather small amount of fabric, she managed to place her front edge on a fringed selvage. Additional strips of selvage edges were scavenged and used to beef up the front edge and neckline. We applaud you, Jackie, for ekeing out such a beauty from such a small piece of fabric. And your Ocean State Job Lot gloves are the perfect complement!
