This is the second time I have made Burda 7658, a shirtwaist dress that had been previewed at bridal showers prior to wearing to work! I like the details of the fitted bodice with front and back vertical darts, cut-away armholes with a self-bias finish and a notched collar. The skirt has soft pleats in front and back with slanted pockets, self-covered fabric belt and a buckle covered with 1/2" bias strips. I positioned my pattern pieces very carefully in order to match the floral design vertically as well as horizontally. The fabric is a blend of cotton and lycra with a silk/lyrca georgette skirt lining.
