Sewist: Laura M.
Bodice: silk chiffon; pants: rayon crêpe
Hook and eye
For much of the year, Laura lives on the island of St. Bart’s where she has a dressmaking and alterations shop that keeps her so busy that she has little or no time to sew for herself. But in the summer she returns to her native Rhode Island and makes up for lost sewing time. With her two children in summer camp, Laura sewed up a storm at AAF. Here she models her jumpsuit made from a Vogue pattern. She made the bodice from a Nanette Lepore silk chiffon panel utilizing the print in such interesting ways. She made the pants from a rayon crêpe. The result is a stunning creation with a very creative use of mixed prints.
