Sex and the City
This Burda 7658 shirtwaist dress has a fitted bodice with front and back vertical darts, cut-away armholes with a self-bias finish, and a notched collar. The skirt has soft pleats in front and back with slanted pockets, a self-covered fabric belt, and a buckle. I positioned my pattern carefully in order to match the floral design both vertically and horizontally. The dress is made from a cotton/silk blend with a bit of lycra and had been under construction for several seasons. Buttons to match were a major stumbling block in the finishing process. I wore the dress for the first time to a Sex and the City-themed bridal shower.
