Annie's Trunk Show: Sweetheart of the Rodeo

One of my husband's clients has a semi-annual fundraiser which they call a hoedown. But this was a totally upscale hoedown: think Rodeo Drive, not Calgary Stampede. A chance to explore some new directions. The jacket pattern is a Simplicity and the skirt pattern is is Burda. The same fabric was used for both: a cotton and lycra metallic denim. The nailhead application was a first for me. I created the design and then began applying the nailheads with needle nose pliers. The piping uses the reverse side of the fabric and there is no cord involved which produces the flat look that I was after.
